The SSHA Health Medicine Body Network brings together scholars interested in health related topics from all disciplines and invites you to participate in the 38th Annual Meeting of the Social Science History Association, this time in Chicago, Illinois, 21-24 Nov 2013. We are welcoming session, paper and poster proposals on health related themes relating to the main conference theme, but suggestions relating to other aspects of social science history are also very much encouraged. Other formats, including roundtable discussions and book sessions, are also possible. A number of ideas for possible panels are listed below, intended to serve as more inspiration than limitation. If you are interested in organizing an entire session, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you in the process. According to SSHA policy complete panels must include at least 4 papers and presenters from more than one academic institution. For more information on the meeting and the association, including the conference-wide call for papers, please see the SSHA website at http://www.ssha.org Graduate students presenting at the conference may apply for a travel grant from the SSHA (http://www.ssha.org/grants).
Proposals are submitted electronically at http://conference.ssha.org with 15 February as a hard deadline. You will need to provide an abstract, title and contact information and designate a network/networks where your paper is likely to fit. Let us know if you need any help making a submission or advice about a proposal. If you have any questions, please contact either of the network co-chairs or with the session organizers listed below:
